Using a combination of pixilation and two-dimensional cutout animation, local animator Jodie Mack tells the musically, romantically pessimistic story of the difficulties of growing up.
CHICAGO PREMIERE Todd Patrick has been booking New York City’s noisiest, rockingest, and all around best shows for much of this decade. Resolutely D.I.Y., a typical Todd P show features a stack of radio-unfriendly acts in a makeshift venue for a bargain basement cover charge—and a welcome reminder of the distinction between “indie” and independent. This raucous road documentary follows several bands en route to perform at Todd’s showcase at the underground music mecca South by Southwest Festival. Featuring white-hot performances by Dan Deacon, Matt & Kim, The Death Set, Mika Miko, High Places, and more.
Donations are tax-deductible, and they help cover costs that ticket sales don't.
Chicago band Percolator has earned admiring comparisons to Pavement, They Might Be Giants, the Meat Puppets, and Built to Spill since they were founded in 2006. Since then, they have been busy making music, recording four EPs and an LP, all of which you can download for free from their website. "Keep an eye on these guys." -- Chicagoist
